What’s The Difference Between History and The Past?

Are History & The Past Two Different Things?

What’s the difference between the past and History? On first glance, one might say they’re the same, but is that really true? In reality, it would be impossible to account for every single thing that occurs in the past, so historians pick and choose what they feel is most important and organize it into a narrative. History is an inherently interpretive process; it’s more like an artwork, and historians more like artists, than we give each credit. But what does that mean when you take into account inherent biases, subjective interpretation or even incorrect information? And what about historical fiction, like Downton Abbey, where the historical context is accurate but the characters fictional? Is Downton Abbey just as relevant of a historical text as say, an AP History book? Watch the episode to find out!

But what’s really interesting is whom, according to Politico, Mr. Trump has brought in to revise his plans: Larry Kudlow of CNBC and Stephen Moore of the Heritage Foundation. That news had economic analysts spitting out their morning coffee all across America. For those who don’t follow such things, Mr. Kudlow has a record of being wrong about, well, everything. In 2005 he ridiculed “bubbleheads who expect housing-price crashes in Las Vegas or Naples, Florida, to bring down the consumer, the rest of the economy, and the entire stock market” — which was exactly what happened. In 2007 he predicted three years of “Goldilocks” prosperity. And on and on. Mr. Moore has a comparable forecasting record, but he also has a remarkable inability to get facts straight. Perhaps most famously, he once attempted to rebut, well, me with an article detailing the supposed benefits of state tax cuts; incredibly, not one of the many numbers in that article was right. So why would Mr. Trump turn to these of all people to, ahem, fix his numbers?

STRAIGHT PEOPLE ARE SO FUCKING WEIRD

This is exactly what I was talking about the other day. It’s not even just the bizarre urge to sexualize children, it’s that they’re sexualized with the explicit purpose of then policing their hypothetical sexuality. Little girls have sexuality forced on them for the sole purpose of teaching them that sexuality is meant to be shameful.

Trump: Everything I say now is a suggestion

By NICK GASS

To hear Donald Trump explain his various proposals on Friday, including a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States—with exceptions, the presumptive Republican nominee made one thing clear: As of right now, they are all just suggestions.

Calling into “Fox & Friends,” his final television hit of the morning, Trump was asked by co-host Brian Kilmeade about the response to his comment that his Muslim ban was “just a suggestion.”

“Yeah. It was a suggestion. Look, anything I say right now, I’m not the president,” Trump said. “Everything is a suggestion, no matter what you say, it’s a suggestion.”
